It is also engaged in the management of family, general, and takaful investment-linked businesses; and manages the Malaysian Motor Insurance Pool to provide motor insurance to vehicle owners who are unable to obtain insurance protection for their vehicles. The company was formerly known as Malaysian National Reinsurance Berhad and changed its name to MNRB Holdings Berhad in April 2005 to reflect a change in its business and assets. The company was founded in 1972 and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. MNRB Holdings Berhad is a subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad.
